Hi again-
I looked at the 1900 census, and if it is correct on Samuel and Harriet's marriage year, then Harriet should be Samuel's mother, if he was born in 1868, and if they had been married 36 years in 1900, then they married around 1864? I also notice a Frank Emerson, who lives next door in 1900, could that be a brother/half brother to Samuel, as it states he was born in 1862?

HeritageQuest before, but didnt see him right off in Hampden, but i
know that HQ doesnt have everyone indexed, often i notice that its
just the heads of the family, so maybe he's moved during that time, or
isnt the head, so I'll prob have to check each, just in case.
Samuel S Emerson was married to Jennie D Barber, of Maine, abt 1865.
He died in 1940, she in 1935, both buried in Hampden.
I can't check the 1930 census, as HeritageQuest doesnt have it indexed.
He was the son of Samuel King Emerson 3rd. his wife is
Harriet/Harriett/Hattie, who didnt died until 1931, and Samuel died in
1907. both are buried in Hampden. They have at least 1 child, Nellie
V. but Samuel has at least 2 children from his first wife, Mary, named
John E and Anson K Emerson, both died some time after 1880 census.
Samuel S is his son, but I don't know which is his mother, not unless
i figure his actual birth year, or find his death record.
