I found my GGgrandparents on the 1880 Census in Brooklyn, NY. They are George D. PHILLIPS b. abt 1841 Ma. and Carrie A. (LAMB) PHILLIPS, b. abt 1851 NY. I need to know who there parents were, and actual dates of births, marriages, and deaths for each. I don't even have any actual dates for George & Carrie either, only what I can find on the 1880 census. George is listed as a millwright, and Carrie a housekeeper. There are so many PHILLIPS its hard to find the correct lineage until I can get through this brick wall. Before my grandma PHILLIPS died, she told me that we were of Welsh descent. I found a PHILLIPS line that came to New England in the 1600s from Pembrokeshire, Wales via England. Now I just need to get through this brick wall to connect the middle. A Hint; George & Carrie's oldest son Willard Delano PHILLIPS spent some time with an uncle in the Boston, Ma. area after he was rescued by the Red Cross from the black hole in India. Willard had been a cabin boy, and !
the crew thought it funny to leave a young boy standed so far from the NY harbor. I would think the Boston area might be a place to start-- that's only a guess. I am still searching also. Thanks in advance for your dedication and time. You'll never know how much this means to me. You can contact me at: . Gail Veve
