Hi Lori. I looked for your SALYER family in the census for Kentucky. There
were 3 Abner's and none had a son named James in the 1850 census. There was
one uncomfirmed mention of a marriage of Abner SALYER to Elizabeth PATTON in
1872 but that was not an actual record. I don't think there were any birth
certificates in 1846. I did find a James K.P. SALYER listed in a family tree
that was online. He was born in 1886 however. His father was listed as
David SALYER. I did find this family in the 1900 census for Kentucky.
