Thanks for the haplotypes.

This is Behar's M* then. Only listed is the HVRI
region. In the HVRII region, Behar lists the
haplotype as 73, 263. There is one from Romania with
the additional mutation of 199.

And it is only found among Eastern European
Ashkenazim. That's intriguing considering the strong
East Asian link.

Are you seeing any non-Jewish Eastern Europeans or
Indians in this group, or is this M* haplotype limited
strictly right now to Eastern European Jews and East
Asian groups like the Hmong?

When you say you believe it is older branch, do you
have an age estimate?
