Also waiting for U series in batch 246 and a bit puzzled that the
FTDNA message says that M126, M160 M269 are unclear as I've already
had those markers tested by them. Guess it's just a general message.

Since a large number men are negative for all the SNPs downstream of
M269, I wonder if there is any research going on which might identify
further R1b1c subclades.

Can anyone describe the process by which new SNPs are determined?
