No, I do not know about such books or articles.
Generally, I like better explanation that make use of relatively recent
historic events. In case of European Q, it is most likely that they came to
Europe with Asian inviders such as Huns.
David Faux has an interresting idea about how Q (and R1a) came to
Scandinavia, which was presented on this List. This seems to be the right
kind of approach.
