David and others interested in YCAIIa,b

If there are not "papers" we learn what we can with tools available. About
3500 of the 15,500 European haplotypes in the YHRD database are measured at
YCAIIa,b. Unfortunately, it is from just 17 of the more than 100 regional
databases of Europe so does not hit key places of interest to me like
Scandinavia. But I decided to extract all the YCAII1,b = 19, 21 haplotypes,
everything else "wild". There are 622 out of 3323 at YHRD. The bulk of the
most populous haplotypes are from my haplogroup of interest --- I1a.

But the third and ninth most common YCAIIa,b = 19, 21 haplotype in Central
Europe is apparently from haplogroup "E". And a bunch of these come from
the Austrian Tyrol, of all places!

For DYS 19, 389i, 389ii, 390, 391, 392, 393, 385a,b these two "E" haplotypes
are

13, 13, 30, 24, 10, 11, 13, 16, 18 and the other with only the change
385a,b being 16, 17

There are some I1c, some J, some R1b, and some R1a not too far down the list

I guess the lesson for me is that unless I'm looking at gross statistics
where I can blur over the fine details, YCAIIa,b = 19, 21 gets contributions
from many haplogroups.

Ken

Ken. The only paper to explore populations where J2 is likely is the
Quintana - Murci et al., 1999 paper where for example among the Georgians of
the Caucasus 15.6% have 19,23; 18.7% have 19,22; 25% have 19,21; and 14%
have 20,20. This is useless for our purposes since these figures are not
correlated to haplogroups.
> If anyone knows of a paper that looks at YCAIIa,b in relation to
haplogroup (other than for Norway), please post the details. Thanks.
