Ann et al...

".. when the day comes that SNP tests are available for finer divisions of
haplgroups, we may encounter the same STR haplotypes in say I1b1 and I1b2 "

It is very obvious from the ongoing conversations here that we need a SNP
test
that also tests down to the sub-haplotypes per the YCC Figure 1.

For the last 16 months or so that I have been a memeber of this list, we
have read,
discussed numerous journal publications on haplotype and sub-haplotype and
as
yet none of us has the access to this type of SNP sub-level testing. The
only
way that "ANY OF US" can intelligently relate to SNP sub-haplotypes I1b1 or
I1b2, or the R's, or the Q's or E's haplogroups is to have that DNA test
that can
identify you down to your sub-haplotype.

I URGE ALL OF THE LIST readers here to write your DNA testing company and
request that they create a SNP sub-haplotype test as a companion to the STR
marker tests they now offer. The need for such a test is great and if we all
make the request via email, or phone call, it will become a reality much
sooner.

Thanks

Bill
