Hi Margaret and Barb.
Just to be different, I would suggest using FamilyTreeDNA if you want the
most information. FTDNA tests for more mutations in HVR1 and offers the
mtDNAPlus test for HVR2. Oxford Ancestors offers neither of those. True,
there are probably more results to match against in the OA database, but
many or most of those don't have e-mail addresses to contact. For example, I
have one match for my father's mtDNA in FTDNA, which has a contact address,
while the three matches at OA have no contact information - and I don't know
if those three have the 16519C mutation. As far as being on the right
continent, that's just a matter of postage cost, I guess. Bill H.
