Hello Alan and all,
I've just finished reading the latest Colleen McCullogh book (I think I've
spelt her surname wrong!) called "Morgan's Run." It follows the life of one
Richard Morgan, the author's husband's ancestor.
Richard came over on the First Fleet. After a short time in Sydney he and
many others were sent to Norfolk Island to found a settlement there,
supplying timber, amongst other things, to Port Jackson. Richard finished
his sentence at Norfolk Island and was granted land there.
Possibly your First Fleeter did likewise.
Best wishes,
Margaret Watson.
