Thanks, Stan. I grieve for those people in New Orleans & Biloxi. New Orleans
is (was?) such a wonderful old city.

We have not yet been down to access the damage that Katrina did to our beach
property, but we got a pretty good hit from Dennis, even though the eye hit
200 miles west of us. 32 ground level homes on our little peninsula,
Alligator Point, were undermined & collapsed.

But what happened to us is NOTHING compared to those poor people in LA & MS.
I cannot even imagine what they are going through. We can repair our place &
no lives were lost.

In 1985 Hurrican Kate put a tree through our house in town. Our first
reaction was "Thank God everyone is OK", but as the months went on and it
was so difficult to get things fixed, it got very depressing. Again, that
does not at all compare to this storm, but I have a small sense of what
faces those people.

Is this the price we pay for living in paradise? It seems we get more &
bigger hurricanes every year. Are we really ruining our envirionment &
bringing this upon ourselves? I really worry about the future of my
grandchildren.

Peggy in FL....sunny again for now!
