Mine is a shortish list. I would like to talk to Dad over a nice bottle of Tasmanian Pinot.
My father died when I was 14- I remember him well, but I never had adult conversations with him. He was born in 1898, voluntered for first world war by lying about his age. As he was over 6 feet tall, he had no problem and had his 17th birthday in the Dardenelles. He never talked to anyone about his war experiences when he came home, old and world weary, gassed and with shrapnel in his leg. Too old for an apprenticeship. Never fulfilled his real potential. Met my mother when both of them were late 30's. She had been jilted almost at the altar in her youth. And so it goes on.
Jean in glorious Tasmania.
