Well - it's the Fourth down at this end, but we're a day ahead of everyone else!
To all you Americans on this list, may I wish you a very pleasant day on your celebration of Independence. Many years ago I was with a group of American soldiers, and we celebrated the Fourth of July in grand style. It was a cheerful party - both the Brits and the Americans drank a toast to the Presidency and to the Monarchy and everyone was happy. A pity we ever parted company, but that's by way of history!
I once did a university paper on the causes of the American Revolution, and it gave me considerable food for thought. But at least, this list has no frontiers and we can meet through the blessed medium of sharing the same language.
Which brings to mind the thought - has everyone else on this list gone to sleep?
