Another memory came to me this morning as I warmed my coffee.  I can remember when everyone was gathering at my grandparents home and were helping to prepare dinner or talking in the living room, (pre-TV).  There were so many coffee drinkers
that when a pot of coffee was finished "dripping" they would race to the kitchen to be there to be the first to get their cup of coffee because a "pot" didn't last long!!  No one wanted the coffee close to the bottom of the pot because of
the residue of the coffee grounds.  The smell of the coffee mixed with the smells of the turkey and sweet potatoes and all the other goodies was one of the aromas that I remember as a child, so many years ago.  I am, now, the only survivor
of those gatherings.
I still "drip" my coffee and chicory.
Happy Holidays to all.
