Dear Leo,
As you suspect, the line given at the page you cite is flawed.
Its putative line runs:
William Morgan mar Lady Frances Somerset [descendant of Edward III] and had
issue:
Edward Morgan, had issue:
James Morgan, had issue:
**** LINE BREAKS HERE ***
Edward Morgan, had issue:
Sarah Morgan, mar Squire Boone and had issue:
Daniel Boone
Lady Frances Somerset was indeed the daughter of the fourth Earl of Worchester
and did indeed marry William Morgan of Llanternam (see 'The Plantagenet Roll of
the Blood Royal", Clarence Volume, p. 28, table XXXV, and their descendants in
table LIV include the next two generations, Edward Morgan and James Morgan; James
Morgan, however, is noted as having d.s.p.m.s.).
Stewart Baldwin has done research on the descendants of Edward Morgan of Gwynedd,
Pennsylvania, for an upcoming article (see his webpage at
<http://sbaldw.home.mindspring.com/e_morgan.htm>: basically, the parentage of the
immigrant Edward Morgan of Gwynnedd, Pennsylvania, grandfather of Daniel Boone,
is unknown, but his father was not James Morgan.
It is hard to see why this line keeps being postulated; as early as 1922, Hazel
Atterburt Spraker, in "The Boone Family" noted that there was nothing authentic
upon which to base any statement connecting the children of Edward Morgan of
Gwynedd with any other Morgan family of record.
So this line has to be marked down as wishful thinking.
