The first Elector of Hanover and his son, King George I, are known to have had mistresses but they were rather lax in acknowledging any children.

Ernst August, Elector of Han(n)over, apparently, is the father of Ernst August, Count von Platen-Hallermund. This would make this Count a half-brother of King George I. To complicate matters, Count von Platen-Hallermund married Sophia Caroline Eva Antoinette von Offeln, and, as Countess von Platen (after producing three children for her husband) became the mistress of the same King George I. The, after a break of several years, in either 1711 or 1713, another child was born, a daughter, Friederike Luise.

A reliable German Genealogical series, "Eisernes Buch Deutschen Adels Deutscher Art, Vol IV (1942) page 185, gives an ancestor list of
Wolfheinrich, Freiherr von Houwald und Brueder (brothers) shows that nr 249 Friederike Luise, Countess von Platen-Hallermund is a daughter of
nr.498. George I, King of Great Britain
nr.499 Sophia Caroline Eva Antoinette von Offeln

My question is, does anyone have reasons to agree or disagree with the paternity of Friederike Luise? A opinion given about this series of books is "The later editions excluded lineages which had a Jewish connection (it was the time Sigh!) But it has a reputation as a professional source!"
Many thanks
