My copy (of the standard edition!) suggests that the price was 32 pounds
for the standard edition and 85 pounds for the "Royal edition" which
must be the one you have. I seem to have bought it in 1980, so it is
possible that the price was lower in 1977. By 1984 when I got round to
buying the other volume, the prices had increased to 45 pounds and 100
pounds respectively. They were inflationary times!
