When you are looking at the dictionary definition, there is usually for
every word a discription of what language the word came from and what part
of speech it is...It's all there!! e.g. OE= Old English Rhonda Houston

Hope someone on the list can help answer my question. Our favorite cookie

this time of the year is the anise cookie. Would like to know why it is
called 'aneece'. In the dictionary, anise is pronounced "an'is". Thanks!!
