Tim,

Thank you for replying to my questions. Your explanations were a great
help. I'm fairly new to searching out original documents, and am finding
Place Name searches especially helpful, since many medieval surnames had a
variety of spellings. It's easier to search the place name first.

Turns out Kilkhampton in Cornwall and Bideford in Devon are very near each
other, even though they're in two different counties, so the landed holdings
of the Grenvilles makes a lot of sense, geographically.
