For curiosity: is it true that a photography of a painting
won't extend the period of copyright protection ? In other
words, is it true that I can reproduce any photo of a public
domain painting from any magazine, book, etc. ?
As for statues, I understand that there is some artistic work
(at least, to have the correct light from the right direction),
but a painting is as far as I know, only the reproduction as is
of an existing work.
The same would apply to old genealogy books, like Pere Anselme
or De La Chesnaye-Desbois. Not sure for Burke since it is a
continuous publication.
