Since compiling a database of 3,000+ medieval/royal ancestors, I have put
together a series of European maps from 100 AD through 1600 AD, each showing
where they lived at the time. Each map is broken down into countries, and
for Western Europe, into counties or provences. The data is limited to
those in my own direct line, and those that have dates with identifiable
places, but I believe it is still of some use, showing the general migration
westward. This can all be found, along with a fully browsable database of
my genealogy file, at www.gurganus.org > genealogy > royals.

As I am sure many of you know a lot more about this time period than I do, I
welcome your comments...
