A point that should be important to everyone on this list/forum is
raised below. While I, like others, believe that Mr. Finton is quietly
trying to do the right thing, he has failed to make any response, yea or
nay, to calls that he confirm clearly that he will not be quoting material
from this list/forum without the author's permission. I am afraid that I
think an answer must be forthcoming. Frankly, even a straightforward
refusal to make such a commitment would be preferable to silence.

by lawyers and presupposes some understanding of the law.
