This confuses two different Pepins:

1.Pepin 'of Landen' m. Itta, parents of

2.Begga, m. Ansgisel (son of St. Arnulf)

3.Pepin 'of Heristal' m. Plectrude, had by mistress Alpais

4.Charles Martel, m. Chrotrud

5.Pepin 'the Short' m. Bertrada (paternal granddaughter of Bertrada,
sister of Plectrud)

6.Charlemagne
