Hi All,

Leo van de Pas indicated that information was currently being compiled on
the number of descents between William the Conqueror and Prince William of
Wales. Sad to say, this is my continuing obsession <grin>.

At the moment I have recorded just over two million descent paths between
these two folk. What is most interesting though is that they have only
about 5080 common relatives. That is, the descent paths through these 5080
people fully account for over two million lines!

As I recall, the longest descent path is over 41 generations, and the
shortest over 28, an average of say, 35 generations.

Consider the implications of these figures on the world population at large.
