Could the cause be the habit to marry by proxy (in the city of the spouse,
sending there brother or uncle), then to celebrate the wedding in the
bridegroom's city? Could also be the cause the fact that notarisation of
such acts would take few days or weeks?

A while ago I did some postings on the House of Habsburg,
and Andrew Kalinkin, quite rightly, pointed out an interesting discrepancy.
Anyone willing to give a verdict?

It is the marriage date of Philip the Handsome and Juana of
Aragon---when did they marry? I used Dr. Dek's date, but
others give a different date, and here they are :

Dr. A.W.E. Dek, Genealogie der Graven van Holland, page 121
married 12 November 1496 in Lier

Prince von Isenburg, Volume I page 17
married 21 August 1496 (no place name)

Schwennicke, Volume I.1 page 42
married 20 October 1496 Lier(e)

Cahiers de Saint Louis, page 706
married 21 August 1496 in Bruxelles (or Lille)

Hope someone can shine some light and tell what is the
proper date.
Many thanks
