Most of my ancestors are English with a few other things thrown in here
and
there. But in 1542 a Vincenzo (Vincent) Guicciardini pops up out of
nowhere.
He and his daughter Camilla (b. 1562) - both were from Florence. Other
than
Camilla marrying a Thomas Darcy, I have no information on either of these
two.
I don't know any other dates, any relatives...nothing. Would you or
anyone
else know who these people were and who their relatives were, etc.?

Let me see if I can help you, at least trying to locate a Guicciardini
pedigree. There are still Guicciardinis around in Florence; one of them
teaches at the university's philosophy department. But there is no ample,
reliable, comprehensive treatment of old families' genealogies for the
Florentine casate. You can find Medici or Strozzi (this from memory) in
Litta, but the Cavalcanti, who matter so much for Brazil, only exist in
unpublished documents and genealogies.

Have you looked at Spreti? Vittorio Spreti, *Enciclopedia
Storico-Nobiliare...*, 1941. Major libraries usually have a copy of it.
