Hi, Johan...

I might have some information that can help you, though I have to admit I am
hunting for the same persons you are, or more specifically, their wives.
There is a book in Swedish concerning the descent and history of the
Hamiltons (Author and title eludes me for the moment), which states that the
descent from Walter FitzGilbert to Malcolm Hamilton, Archbishop of Cashell
is as follows:

Walter FitzGilbert, father of
David FitzWalter, father of
John Hamilton, father of (2:nd son)
David H. of Dalserf, father of
John H. of Dalserf, father of
Robert H. of Dalserf, father of
Robert H. of Dalserf, father of (not 1:st son)
Achibald Hamilton, father of
Malcolm Hamilton, Archbishop of Cashell, father of
John Hamilton (3:rd son by Jean Wilkie), father of
Hugo Hamilton, father of
Gustav David Hamilton, 1:st Count Hamilton of Barseback, Scania, Sweden.

I am told by my grandmother, that we are somehow related to this Count
Hamilton (previous research), since a daughter (which one?) of the Hamiltons
married a commoner, her daughter a peasant, her daughter in turn supposedly
my great grandmother...

Sincerely, Mattias Engdahl
