Coenraet van Diepholt (Konrad von Diepholz) was Marshall of Utrecht and
Castellan of Abcoude from 1540 on. He died 1572.
His children (from an unknown marriage) were:
1. Floris van Diepholt, whose daughter, Maria, married the nobleman,
Geraert van Elderborn.
2. Francisca van Diepholt, who married the nobleman Jacob van Amerongen of
Utrecht.
His probable ancestral uncle, Rudolf von Diepholz, was Bishop of Utrecht
1423-1455, and another ancestral uncle one generation later, Konrad von
Diepholz, was a canon at Utrecht before becoming Bishop of Osnabrck
1455-1482. The Diepholz family thus had a history of contacts with Utrecht
in the Netherlands.
