Further to my pevious message, I would also like the connection between
the above and Violante Visconti, second wife of Lionel Duke of Clarence.

The information I have is as follows:

1) Violante Visconti
c. 1353-1386

information: father = Galeazzo I Duke of Milan
mother = Bianca Maria de Savoie d. of Aymon the Pacific

grandfather(m)= Matteo I the Great Lord of Milan

Violante's brothe Azzone Lord of Milan (b. 1302) seems to have had no
children.
Galeazzo I's brothers, Luchino and Giovanni, both Lords of Milan, appear
to have had no children either. A fourth son, whose name is not given,
was named as the father of Matteo II, Galeazzon II and Bernaboo, Lords of
Milan, in the fourteenth century.

2) Thaddia Visconti
fl 1365
d. 28 Sept 1381
wife of Stephen III the Magnificent, Duke of Bavaria
mother of Isabeau of Bavaria, Queen of France, wife of Charles VI

only information: father of Thaddia Visconti was Barnabas Visconti

3) Valentina Visconti of Milan
fl 1391
d. 1408
wife of Louis de Valois, Duke of Anjou (brother of Charles VI of France)

only information: father of Valentina Visconti was John Galeas Visconti
mother of Valentina Visconti was Isabella of France, d.
of John II the Good of France (Louis, her husband,
was also her first cousin)

It is because the information on each of these historical figures,
Thaddia, Violnate and Valentina, is so limited that I cannot connect their
family trees. I assume that there were not many noble Visconti families
marrying into the royal houses of Europe in the fourteenth century, and
that there must be some connection.

For example, Thaddia lived around the same time as the unnamed son of
Matteo I of Milan. Is it not possible that Barnabas, Thaddia's father,
was that unnamed son and that the connection was lost? Or indeed that John
Galeas Visconti had some connection to the family?

Any information would be appreciated,

Regards,

Michelle Murphy
