These are the same person. Several (even most) of the later Hugh's of
Lusignan bore the nickname le Brun. It would seem that your source for
"Alice le Brun" has incorrectly taken this to be a surname (likewise
"Taillefer" was a nickname of Isabella's grandfather (I think it was)
the Count of Angouleme, and not a surname or placename). As far as I
know, Alice is the mother of all of John's legitimate children.
