Robert is thought to be a member of the Toeny family, but cannot be
placed. He was not father of William d'Aubigny. He had son William de
Todeni, and a daughter Alice who married Roger Bigod. Roger's daughter
Cecily then married William d'Aubigny Brito. Whether she was daughter
or step-daughter of Alice has been discussed here recently.

(For those following the Toeny/Bigod/d'Aubigny question, I just found a
french source on the Toenys which claims that Alice 'Bigod', wife of
William d'Aubigny Pincerna, was widow and not daughter of Roger Bigod.
Again, this is in a genealogical table without an accompanying textual
references.)
