Here is an extract from an article published in the french magazine
"Moyen-age", #2, January-February 1998, Editions Heimdal. Hope this can
carry you some good informations.

About De la TREMOUILLE family.

Origin: supposed: from the ancient count of Poitiers.

Guy, sire de la TREMOUILLE, followed Godefroy de BOUILLON for the 1st
crusade in 1096.
Thibaud de la TREMOUILLE, followed St Louis (IX), king of France, in his
first trip to Holly Land. He died there in 1248 with 3 children of his.
Guy V de la TREMOUILLE, nicknamed "Le Vaillant", Seigneur de Craon et de
Sully, comte de Guines, baron de Dracy, married Marie de SULLY de CRAON.
He died in Rhodes (Greece) in 1398. they had 2 sons, Jehan and Georges.
Their son, Jehan de la TREMOUILLE, sire de Jonvelle, born about 1377,
Chambellan of the dukes of Burgundy Jean sans Peur and Philippe le Bon.
Chevalier de la Toison d'Or in 1430. He married (17 july 1424) Jacqueline
d'AMBOISE, daughter of Ingerger d'AMBOISE, seigneur de la Rochecorbon, and
Jeanne de CRAON. He died childless on 7 May 1449.
His brother Georges de la TREMOUILLE, grand Chambellan de France, his the
author of the la TREMOUILLE family continuation. His descent married other
important family (Orange-Nassau, Hesse-Cassel, Salm, Montmorency,
Bourbon...). They became Prince de Talmont in 1446, Duc de Thouars in
1563, Prince of Tarente in 1651. The last member of the La TREMOUILLE
family was Louis-Jean de la TREMOUILLE, prince and 12th duke of La
TREMOUILLE, 13th duke of Thouars, 13th Prince of Tarente, 13th Prince of
Talmont. He was born in 1910 and died in an accident in England in 1933.
