Vickie and others:
The line from King Edward III through Hugh Harry to Amos Griffith has
been disproved by Neil Thompson in "Hugh Harry, Quaker Immigrant to
Pennsylvania: His Purported Royal Descent Disproved," The American
Genealogist 69: 95-97, April 1994. Thompson shows that Hugh Harry's
grandfather, probably named Thomas Owen, could not have been the Thomas
Owen who was Mayor of Machynlleth, county Montgomery, in 1623 and was
descended from King Edward III.
