I have an Elizabeth Pauncefote who married Bartholomew Tate, M.P., of
Delapre, Northamptonshire. Tate died in 1601. Elizabeth was daughter of
Richard Pauncefote & his wife (christian name unknown) daughter of Robert
Tate, M.P., Lord Mayor of London. Robert Tate died 1500.

There is a Pauncefote family resident from earliest times at Hasfield in
Gloucestershire, and circumstantial evidence would suggest to me that my
Richard, may be the brother of John Pauncefote, of Hasfield (d 1516).

There are various royal lines which may be connected to through Pauncefote,
particularly one back to Edward I.

Is anyone else researching this family? If so please communicate with me.
