One problem with this is that Louis XV did not recognize *any* illegitimate
offspring. The generally recognized list of his bastards (see, for
example, *Le Sang de Louis XIV*, Tome 1 [Braga: 1961], p. 74; or the
Schwennicke edition of *Europaeische Stammtafeln*, Band III, Teilband 2,
Tafeln 341-342) is mostly guesswork.
That being said, the fellow you're referring to was actually
Charles-Emmanuel de Vintimille du Luc, Marquis de Luc. His name was not
Louis (as you had it), but his nickname was "Demi-Louis". He was born at
Versailles on 2 September 1741 (not 1740), a son (legally) of Jean Baptist
Comte de Vintimille Marquis du Luc (d. 1777) by his wife (married November
1739) Pauline de Mailly de Nesle (1712-1741). "Demi-Louis" died at
St-Germain-en-Laye on 14 February 1814 (not 1811 as you had it).
