Hi,
According to CH Petit-Dutaillis in his work "The Feudal Monarchy in France
and England" p 312, an Anseau de Garlande, "a lord of the Ile de France, put
the sons of a creditor in prison and held them as hostages. When he refused
to release them Louis IX ordered his incarceration". Who was this Anseau de
Garlande and what was his relationship with the Anseau de Garlande who was
the Comte de Rochefort and Seneschal of France during the period 1108 to
1118. Any help would be much appreciated.
