Richard Capon,
The family you are researching is to be found (with some
variant in spellings and dates) in Europaische Stammtafeln iii,
700 followed by 702: Les Sires de Beaumont, Comtes de Meulan,
Earls of Leicester.
Your "Humphrey de Vetulis" corresponds to Hunfroy de
Vieilles. His son "Roger de Bello Monte" is Roger de Beaumont &
Pont-Audemer, who m. Adeline de Meulan. These are the parents
of Robert de Beaumont who m. Isabel de Vermandois (No. 3 in my
recent listing).
Skipping down, your "Robert de Wigornia (d 1207)" must be
Robert II, Count of Meulan, d. Poitiers 16 Oct 1204, bur,
Preaux, m. circa 1165 Mahaut de Dunstanville, dau. of Reginald,
Earl of Cornwall, who was bastard of Henry I, King of England.
Their children as listed in ES iii, 702 are: Waleran V, Pierre,
Henry, Mabile (my #6), Agnes, and Jeanne. But no William or
Robert.
You will also find Robert de Beamont--indeed all of my
numbers 2 through 10--in Weis, Ancestral Roots, line 50. E.g.,
Robert de Beaumont, Count of Meulan, is 50:26. (For my Nos. 1 &
2 see Weiss 53:23 & 24.)
