I am looking for any information on Robert de Umfraville who went to England
with William the Conqueror in 1066, (nicknamed Robert cum barba.) It is my
understanding he was lord of Amfreville in Normandy (but which one of the
seven Amfrevilles?).
Did he settle in Wales (Penmarc) or did he settle in Northumberland (Prudhoe,
Ridesdale)?.
Who were his parents, grandparents, etc., and to what degree or in what way
was he related to William?.
Was he also related in any way to Humphrey de Bohun (Onfory de Bohon)?.
I would greatly appreciate any information.
