Rafal,

Do you have any indications that the sons and daughters----grandsons and
grandaughters, etc. of Roman Emperors may have married into the
"bourgeois" families of the cities of the Empire? These would be
families who rose to greater political prominence in the Medieval
Period.

It would not be surprising to see some of these wealthy
families---perhaps particularly within the geographical expression of
the day, "Italia"----to at least claim such linkages.
