Sure, our chorus just finished singing Vivaldi's Gloria, last night was the
final performances,
and it was incredibly
well received, the maestro as he introduced the full baroque orchestra
was incredible, when he set the stage and invited the audience to step back
in time
and imagine
a wealthy patron holding court in his gilded
ballroom full of costumed partygoers
as the musicians enchanted the audience and the vocalists sang praises
to God......this was so tremendous and just put us right into the past, I
could
"see" the spectacle in my minds eye....even imagining my 17th century
ancestors being a part of the throng....while it pushes the medieval
envelope
a bit time wise....the music is sooooo worthwhile, who cares. And this
music
grew out of so-called street music of the medieval era, according to our
conductor.
Tapes are
available in music stores
and would be perfect for background to your Christmas activities.
Your church sounds wonderful and creative.
