My trouble with Sybil De Braose stems from trying to use (foolishly) a
WFT CD. They list a lot of names but not many references as to where to
find the information and each "family" only list the individuals they are
directly related to. I've seen several that list William De Ferrers I as
her first husband, but there are others that list his brother Robert as
the firs and William as the second. Looking at the offsprings listed and
their birth dates doesn't fit. Then there is Adam De Port who it is
claimed was her second husband and by whom she had a "son". Robert was
sopposedly the father of: Elizabeth (1166-?) and Millicent (1177-?) and
William I as the father of: Millicent (1164-?), Agatha (1168-?) and
Isabel (1166-?) ??? see what I mean how did she have Elizabeth by Robert
in 1166 and Isabel by William in 1166? The most believable one one was:
1. William De Ferrers II
+ Sybil De Braose
2. William De Ferrers II
+ Agnes De Meschines
2. Millicent (1164-?)
+ Roger De Mortimer
2. Agatha (1166-?)
+ mistress to John Lackland (King John)
2. "son"
2. "son"
2. "son"
2. Robert De Ferrers (1177-1227)
+ Joan Bocland
I've also seen a Pernell listed, but don't know where he fit in. So with
Richard with your input as to references maybe I can get it straight yet.
I do hope we can find someone else to give us some more information.
Thanks, Frances
