Am looking for information from the Domesday Survey, Lincolnshire. Possibly
Haverstoe Wapentake.

>From information I have, EARL ALAIN of Britainy held land in Hadeclive or
Hadecliu (Hatcliffe) as did IVE TAILBOIS, until the Wapentake men found in
favour of a claim by one DROGO.

Hoping someone will be able to tell me if anyone else is recorded as holding
land at the time of Domesday.

The earliest record I have of a Hatcliffe is: Alen de HADECLIVE (b.1171) who
held the estate at Hatcliffe AD 1242. The source was apparently Testa de Nevill.
How Alen got the estate, or who his ancestors were is unknown. Could he be a
descendant of DROGO or EARL ALAIN? Are there any genealgical records of
these two? (I realize Earl Alain died unmarried, but...)

Information is needed for a one name study- family history.
Do hope someone can help. ANY, just ANY information would be gratefully
received.
