My ancestry goes back to Claes Nicholas DE WITT, b, abt 1594 in Holland,
Netherlands. I have been reading about Johan De Witt, the Dutch
Raadspensionary whose long opposition to William's appointment to the office
of Stadholder culminated in his own murder.

Does anyone know whether there is a link to my 8th great grandfather?
