In article <>,
RAFALP% says...
(I have cut a lot here)
Some of your data may help to sort out some problems I have with
the early Swedish Royal genealogy.
In a commented translation of Adam of Bremens "History of the Bishops of
Hamburg-Bremen" c.1080. The following "Mieszko I":
>
>192. Mieszko I Dagon ks. polski * c.935, x (1) 965, Dobrawa czeska, x
>(2) 978/980, Oda z Haldensleben. Mieszko + 25-05-992.

is named as the father of the polish princess that first married "Eryk
Zwycieski kr. Szwecji" i.e. Eric "the victorious" King of Sweden:
>
>260. Eryk Zwycieski kr. Szwecji x 985, Sygryda Dumna (Swietoslawa) polska.
> Eryk + c.995.

and then Swen Widlobrody kr. Danii i.e. Svein "forkbeard" King of Denmark:

>261. Sygryda Dumna (Swietoslawa) polska * c.970, x (1) 985, Eryk

As I believe that Sigrid "the haughty" is an literary invention
of Snorre Sturlason, "Swietoslawa" may be the proper name of
the actual polish princess (Adam gives no name and is not sure if she
was the sister or daughter of Boleslaw, the commenter points out
Mieszko I as the father).
>From a recent book on Cnut "the greath"
I recall that he had a sister with a polish name, maybe "Swietoslawa",
(and a brother named Torstein).
Cnut, Swietoslawa, Torstein and Estridh should then have been
born in Swietoslawas marriage with while Olaf "skotkonung" was
born in Swietoslawas marriage to Eric "the victorious".
What are the primary sources of entries 260 & 261?
