The warning you received regarding "The Roll of the House of Lacy" is
correct; it does contain errors. You are advised to read "The Lacy Family
in England and Normandy 1066-1194" by W. E. Wightman. Regarding the wife
of Henry, son of Robert, son of Ilbert, per Wightman, "His wife was the
sister of William de Vesci, lord of Alnwick and Malton, a typical baronial
alliance. One sixteenth century collection gave her name as Aubrey, though
there is no medieval authority for this. It may be nothing more than
another confusion over the two Aubreys through whom the honour descended
to Roger, constable of Chester." Robert "ob. ante 1129" and Henry "ob
1177" on crusade.
