Hello, I've only been on the list for a few weeks now, but I've already
found some important information. I'm especially interested in legendary
pedigrees or family histories because that's part of my Ph.D. Now my problem
is that I can't find the sources. Everybody seems to know about these bogus
pedigrees and mythical ancestors and they're mentioned in secondary
literature, but what I need are the manuscripts. So far, I've only been able
to find some on the royal dynasties, especially from the time of the
York-Lancaster struggle. However, what I'm really interested in, are family
histories and pedigrees (medieval) of peerage families. I'd be very thankful
if anyone could help. By the way, my dissertation is about genealogy as
propaganda and I've already written my MA. thesis on this. Then dealing with
the Mortimer Family and the several Earls of Warwick.
