You should find G. W. S. Barrow's book "The Anglo-Norman Era in
Scottish History" (I hope the title is correct, but I know I got the
author right). That book deals a little with the Morvilles and
Beauchamps. It's where I first heard that story you mentioned about
Beatrice's lover. Maybe it's where you heard of it too.
