I didn't see any response to this, so thought I would jump in here...

Edward had a brother Edmund who died in childhood. I always thought he
was older and that Edward was born after his father's death, but the
chart I just checked has Edmund as the younger (The Kings and Queens of
Great Brittain" compiled by Anne Taute, published by Elm Tree
Books/Hamish Hamilton LTD., London, 1983 revision).

I don't know the exact Latin for dsp, but it means "died without issue. "
(I think the last two words are "sine prole", the word for "died" escapes
me).
