Have come acrossed a book "The Tilden Family 1235-1635," by John Tilden,
1967. Looking for a bit of background on the sources and any body else
that is working on this line. He proposes the following:
Henry de Tyldenne, b. 1235; Henry de Tyldenne, b. 1260; Walter de
Tyldenne, b. 1288; Thomas de Tyldenne, b. 1215; Thomas de Tyldenne b.
1350; Thomas de Tyldenne, b. 1378; John Tylden, b. 1406; Robert Tylden, b.
1440; John Tylden, b. 1475; Richard Tylden b. 1510; Thomas Tylden, b.
1544; Nathaniel Tilden, b. 1583 - migrated to Scituate, Plymouth Colony .
. . Also maintains that the family name is only found in KENT, all lived
in Holyngbourne, E. Sutton, Marden, Benenden, and Tenterden.
He also mentions that Thomas de Tyldenne b. 1378 md an Isolde Reve, dau.
of John Reve. Is there any connection between this family and one John
Reve md. Mary Brock, parents of Anne Reve, md. Thomas Fitch, 8 Aug. 1611??
Thanks!
