I am a little skeptical about this. The editions of the book that I have
seen run into 20 or so volumes (although I must admit that I didn't look at
the text within to know how much was document and how much was commentary),
so I am not sure how they shoehorned the entire text, plus intro, time
chart and extensive gazeteer into 351 pages. Does "the central text of the
survey" really refer to the entire survey, or is it some sort of overview?
